Cherine Fok is the practice lead for Sustainability Services in Singapore and drives the local efforts for KPMG IMPACT, KPMG’s global initiative on ESG expertise building for a more sustainable and resilient future. She has more than 15 years of experience in a wide range of consultancy projects, specialising in ESG strategies and frameworks, social and economic development, sustainable finance, climate change and ESG measurement, reporting and assurance. By championing cross-functional collaboration and expertise, she helps corporate and public sector clients to address complex ESG and decarbonisation topics.

Cherine has led numerous sustainability advisory engagements across diverse industries. These engagements cover end-to-end client delivery from green economy strategies, decarbonisation roadmaps, climate risk disclosures to impact measurement, sustainable finance framework development and ESG due diligence. For example, she has assisted a leading global real estate company in issuing Singapore’s first green bond.

Currently, Cherine is a Council Member of the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore, a Member of the EuroCham Sustainability Committee, and a Member of the British Chamber of Commerce’s Sustainability Committee. She is part of Green Finance Working Group of the Monetary Authority of Singapore. She is also a non-practising member and Corporate Reporting Committee Member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA).

Cherine takes a special interest in market building efforts related to sustainable development and is a regular contributor to industry thought forums and media content. Her contributions include speaking engagements and insight publications with the G7 Global Summit, the UK-ASEAN Business Council, the US-ASEAN Business Council, the Singapore Exchange, the Monetary Association of Singapore, Singapore Green Building Council, the REIT Association of Singapore, the Singapore Institute of Directors, the Singapore Institute of International Affairs, the Singapore Environment Council, the CPA Australia (Public Sector ESG Roundtable), the Asia Financial Forum, the European Chamber of Commerce, the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Straits Times, the Business Times, LianHe ZaoBao and Channel News Asia, amongst others.

Victor Koo

Chairman, Heyi Holdings and Co-Founder Tianren Culture (Founder of Youku, China’s Youtube 古永锵优酷创始人)

Victor Koo founded Heyi Holdings in 2005, which incubated Youku in 2006. Victor led Youku as Chairman and CEO to become a leading multi-screen media and entertainment company in China. Youku was listed on the NYSE in 2010, completed its privatization and was acquired by Alibaba in 2016. Victor retired from his position as Chairman and CEO and served as Chairman of Alibaba Entertainment Strategy and Investment Committee for a year in 2017. Victor continues to serve as Chairman of Heyi Holdings, which currently focuses on disruptive innovation and social impact investments in areas such as health, genomics and new protein. He is also a senior advisor of Texas Pacific Group and business advisor of DeCheng Capital.

Victor also co-founded Tianren Culture, a next-generation social platform that serves as a catalyst and enabler of social innovation with the mission to foster positive global values and lifestyles. Tianren Culture’s core strategic focus is to promote “OneHealth, One Wellness” by promoting healthy and sustainable lifestyles and “Being One with Nature”, especially those with roots in Eastern cultures and philosophies which believe that the body and mind health of human beings are interconnected with the health of the broader environment and ecosystem.

Tianren Culture works with funding, NGO and business partners to put in place high impact, effective social innovation initiatives to improve physical health and reduce factory-farmed animal protein consumption and production by promoting flexitarian diets and food innovation based on plant-based, fermentation and cell-based technologies and to support scientific research and promote meditation and breath work practices to improve mental and emotional wellness. He is also on the advisory board of Global Wellness Institute and Good Food Fund. Tianren Culture is a strategic partner of Global Wellness Institute on the Wellness Moonshot in China as part of a growing network to eradicate preventable, chronic disease worldwide.

From 1999 to 2005, Victor served as President, COO, and CFO at Sohu, China’s NASDAQ-listed leading internet portal. Prior to joining Sohu, Victor worked as vice president at the venture capital firm Richina Capital Partners, where he led venture capital investments in media and entertainment. Previously, Victor worked at Bain & Co. in San Francisco from 1989 to 1992.

Victor received his MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business where he currently serves on the Advisory Council. He was also a Regent’s Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, where he received a BS degree.
