Synopsis
With the ever‐changing business and social environment, regulations and increased mobility, what are some of the issues faced by families in recent times? Is there greater emphasis of philanthropy for high net worth families now than ever before? Are families moving towards a certain governance structure or policy? In the first part of this session, we will discuss the mega trends impacting families globally. For the second part of the session, we will bring the discussion from global to that in Singapore and the region. Lastly, we will illustrate the above concepts with a case study of a family with investments globally and family members with different tax residencies and place of domicile to depict the cross jurisdictional issues.
