Tikam Jain is a prominent leader in the real estate industry, but his dedication has paved the way for a future where compassion and sustainable action – for both animals and people – converge. Through purposeful work with Goshalas (cow shelters), Tikam and his family have been instrumental in inducing social impact that will be felt for generations to come.

Nearly a decade ago, Tikam and his brother were struck by the unfortunate reality facing rural communities: the widespread abandonment of cows. As economic pressures made it increasingly difficult for villagers to sustain livestock, cows were often left to wander and were abandoned to face the elements. This was a wake-up call for Tikam and his family, prompting them to take swift action. They built Goshalas to provide abandoned cows with food, shelter, care and much needed medical attention. But the scope of their vision extended far beyond just helping the cows.

By offering a sanctuary for these animals, Tikam has not only ensured that the cows are treated with dignity but has also empowered surrounding communities. Local farmers, who once struggled to afford organic fertilizers, now have access to cow dung, which serves as a powerful, sustainable resource for their crops. The cycle is one of symbiosis: animals are cared for, the environment is enriched, and farmers can thrive, all while helping to restore balance to an ecosystem under tremendous strain.

Beyond uplifting rural communities and animal welfare

What makes Tikam’s efforts so remarkable is his focus on making social impact a top priority, with no financial gain whatsoever. He does not see himself as a philanthropist, but as a champion for sustainable impact. He is personally involved in every aspect from planning to execution to ensure a successful outcome – for Good. Goshalas have been built with love and a commitment to serve and to protect animals, the environment and the local community. The benefits are undeniable: the Goshalas provide shelter and care to animals. Moreover, these shelters have created employment opportunities and enabled better access to healthcare for rural communities, breaking the cycles of poverty and hardship.

Tikam’s vision, however, extends far beyond animal welfare. His unwavering commitment to sustainability is evident in the 90-100 trees his family has planted to help mitigate environmental deterioration. Tikam’s ambition doesn’t stop at environmental or animal welfare initiatives; he has also set his sights on fostering educational opportunities for underprivileged students. Continuing his father’s legacy, Tikam plans to partner with higher learning institutes to provide scholarships and financial aid, empowering many to study at tertiary level to fulfil their dreams and build brighter futures.

Looking ahead, Tikam’s plans are even more far-reaching. After his retirement, he aims to establish a special foundation dedicated to supporting the families of construction workers who have succumbed to injuries due to accidents at the worksite. This fund would ensure that the children of the workers are able to continue their education without any disruption, receiving the necessary support until they can secure stable employment and become fully self-reliant.

Tikam Jain’s work serves as a much-needed reminder of what true social impact looks like: the will to make a difference and inspire meaningful change. Tikam has proven that when we take care of those around us, we are actually building a sustainable future together. Tikam is confident that he will build a lasting legacy, with his own children and their families eventually taking these and many more initiatives forward to create lasting impact.
